Sword Identification Services
A Fee Based Service
Photo based sword identification
We currently offer photo based sword identification services. The Fee is $15 USD per sword. For this you
get an identification of the national or region of origin of your sword, an estimation of date or period of
manufacture, and a description of military or civil organization that used the sword. This is accompanied by
extracted excerpts from sword reference books or from our published (or prepublication material) that
validate the identification. To get a sword identified you must provide a good set of photos showing details
of the handle, blade and any markings. You also must pay beforehand using Paypal. Note that we do not
definitively authenticate your sword as being old or modern, because this cannot be done without direct
inspection of the sword. It is a photo based identification only. For most swords that are not commonly
reproduced, this is sufficient to determine what they are and where they came from.
Sword Identification & Authentification
We do perform sword identification and authentifications. The cost is $150 per sword. These require that
you send us the sword for inspection. You pay for the shipping (both ways). We have a set of our experts
evaluate the sword and offer their judgements on the authenticity of the sword. We identify the sword and
will asses any damage, replaced parts, missing parts, replaced blades, repaired blades, grip restorations,
etc. As much as is possible we will authenticate any markings, serial numbers, and/or inspectors marks.
We will provide hardcopy material substantiating the identification and a written document substantiating
the condition estimate. The output to you is a consensus expert opinion. This is an opinion and is not a
guarantee and has no implied warranty as to accurracy. If you are interested in this service please send

Sword valuation and Appraisal
We do not appraise swords.
